While I generally get some of my best artwork accomplished during the winter rainy months, I'm sad to see the summer come to an end.

Meanwhile, an artist does what he can to make ends meet. Since the winter is coming, it is imperative that I finish up a roofing job before the rains come. (Actually, we did have rain here in California in the beginning of September and we were hustling to cover the roof of the house which was totally bare just as we got news of a local storm coming in from the South. Good thing we did. . . it poured that night. Lesson learned: A hundred dollars of polyurethane tarp can save thousands in structural damage.)

Today, however, will be a warm day - so I'm gonna enjoy it while it's here. I suggest y'all do to.

Our six book series just hit the stands a week or two ago. Some of the artwork has been posted here in my gallery, but you can see what the books look like by going to Amazon.com and searching my name, or Ken Hooper's name who was the primary illustrator for the series. Shepherd Hendrix also helped out on one of the books (Treasure Hunter), and a separate series of six books from the same publisher was illustrated by Chris Marrinan and are historically based presentations. I admonish you to check 'em out. These are perfect introductions to historical events and unique career guidance books generated for ages 9 to 15 years.
